How typekit will change web design

I've been doing web design for years and have been stuck with the good old web safe fonts.  By creating your page in web safe fonts you can be assured that all browsers on all operating systems will be able to render your page.  I know how important accessability is, but after a few years the same fonts gets boring... "Do I want to use Verdana or Arial on this page?"  Sure, you can use graphics for other fonts but that will ruin SEO and access efforts, so it should be used minimally.   This leaves web designers stuck in a rut...
